I'm a first-timer, and should have used the CCpublisher.

But anyway, I used the ftp process to send about 630 MB of video, then clicked on the link saying my ftp was done. I was expecting to be prompted for keywords, etc., but was mistaken.

I went to Item Manager, and tried to edit the XML for my contribution, but some of the required fields would not accept input. For example, the "Collection" field (I don't know what that is, anyway).

Okay, I got the "collection" part set. I had to click on the details link for the item itself to be prompted for this.

Now, I still can't set the field that allows my video to show up in a search, and be available to the public. Does a moderator set these things normally?

Thanks!

Hi,

New items get added to the search engine (SE) automatically, you don't have to do anything to make that happen.

However, you may have noticed some discussion in the forum recently about us rearchitecting the SE in order to handle the increased number of requests and updates (it had been dying regularly). Until we finish fixing the SE, updates are not going through.

That means your show has been queued up to be added to the SE, but it isn't in there yet. We hope to start updating the SE again sometime next week.

Thanks,

Alexis

Thanks so much! I see that my video is now in the search engine. I hope no one went in manually and did that just for me, I would have gladly waited!

Please forgive my ignorance.

I just saw another post saying that the search engine is not being updated for a while. That's probably it.

Take care, Roderick.
